Accounting for Non-Accountants (3 Days - 24 hours):

This program is designed to provide the non-accountant with the basics of accounting theory and practices. Attendees interested in gaining a working knowledge of the language of accounting and its application or those desiring to work with other accounting professionals toward mutual business objectives and comprehend how transactions are reported and recorded. Attendees will learn the basics on how to read and understand the myriad of financial statements. One will gain a better appreciation of how one analyzes accounting information in making decisions.

An Introduction to Hedge Funds and other Alternative Investments (2 Days - 16 hours):

This course is directed to both individuals in the alternative investment field and family offices, as well as investors who are seeking knowledge regarding this asset class. This course will provide critical information regarding structuring of both domestic and foreign funds. Afterwards, a description of the various styles and characteristics of hedge funds will be elaborated upon.  Performance results, risk measurements, and asset allocation concepts will be presented. the course will conclude with descriptions of other alternative type investments such as Private Equity Funds.  


Corporate Valuation (3 sessions - 24 hours):

This course  in corporate valuation will provide attendees with a solid foundation of business valuation techniques utilized by valuation professionals.  Principles used in valuing both public and private entities will be discussed, reviewed, and analyzed. Initially, attendees will gain an overview of the valuation process and learn the methods used in obtaining and gathering economic, industry, and company data.  All the latest techniques in valuation, including the latest, Contingent Claims Pricing Model will be thoroughly discussed.  Participants will also gain a basic understanding of the concepts of discount and capitalization rates as well as discounts and premiums.

Fair Value Taxation and Accounting (2 sessions - 16 hours):

This advanced course in accounting and taxation addresses the current accounting literature as well as Internal Codes and Regulations dealing with fair value treatment. A discussion of derivatives will be conducted as well due to its connection with the topic.  Attendees will learn various approaches in defining fair value and how best to record them on financial statements. Further, an overview of the various codes applicable to fair market value will be relayed as well a brief comparison between accounting and taxation regimes.

Investment Management- A Practical Approach (3 Days - 24 hours):

The seminar is designed to provide a refresher for both investment professionals and providers of investment services such as financial analyst, financial planners, insurance professionals, and analysts as well as individuals seeking to be self-sufficient in investment strategies.  Attendees will learn the basic investment theories and strategies as well as the various asset classes including alternatives.  Further, an understanding of the concepts of diversification and asset allocation will be presented.  Basic valuation approaches will be discussed in addition to various performance measurement practices. Lastly, risk tolerances will be analyzed in order to satisfy one's investment needs.

Managerial Accounting Basics for Non-Accountants (3 sessions -24 hours):

This introductory course on managerial accounting will offer the attendee the ability to understand fundamental cost accounting concepts and applications.  The focus of these sessions is on the practicality and usage of these techniques and not accounting, per se.  Topics covered during the sessions will include break-even analysis, financial statement analysis, costing concepts, capital budgeting, and incremental analysis. Participants will leave with a solid foundation of the techniques used in decision making.

Microfinance Basics (4 sessions- 32 Hours):

Attendees will learn this emerging area of microfinance and its very particular focus on the poor. This field absorbs information from numerous allied fields such as finance, accounting, economics, and sociology, just to name a few. During these 32 hours, one will learn first the backdrop and fundamentals of microfinance. Afterwards, the course will address financial analysis, accounting, and economic concepts directed purely to the field. Participants will leave with an appreciation and knowledge of Microfinance. 

The Crash Course in Financial Management (3 Days - 24 hours):

This course  is designed to provide a refresher for managers with financial responsibility – as well as those with operational or other responsibilities who need an immediate understanding and practical knowledge of financial concepts. You will learn current analytical techniques and practices  and will learn the latest in project analysis techniques and the capability to assess the desirability and value of investment projects, corporate assets and company acquisitions. Concepts such as EBITDA, EBIT, EVA (Economic Value Added), NPV(Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return) will be explained in practical terms.  The ability to understand financial reports, capital structure and financial analysis will be undertaken.
